Solaris – 40
The Solaris 40 is a 12.36 m (40-foot) performance cruiser built by Solaris Yachts, designed by Javier Soto Acebal, aiming to bring the innovations of larger yachts into a compact, highly capable platform. Starting with the hull form, it features a buoyant bow with a subtle chine that transitions mid-hull, balanced by wide aft sections and twin rudders for strong directional stability.
On deck the cockpit is designed for both performance and comfort — the twin-helm pedestals span the full width, offering unobstructed forward visibility even with a sprayhood in place. All sail controls are led aft for easy handling, making the Solaris 40 well suited for short-handed sailing or stylish cruising. Internally it offers either a three-cabin/two-bath layout or a two-cabin/two-bath option, all finished with high-quality joinery and smart use of space including six hull-windows for generous natural light.
In terms of performance and specification: the Solaris 40 has a beam of 4.10 m, a draft of 2.40 m (with an optional shallower 2.00 m version), and a displacement of around 9,400-9,850 kg with ballast about 3,050 kg. Sail area is approximately 100 m² in the standard configuration. It’s described in one review as “an appealing mix of style, performance and spacious accommodation,” underlining its dual identity as both fast cruiser and comfortable live-aboard.
